Family Oriented German Shepherd Breeder
At Roberts'K9s, we raise our puppies in a loving and caring environment that prepares them for their life ahead. We believe that puppies not only have physical needs that need to be met in order for them to thrive as a good dog, but emotional needs as well.
We use Biosenser training as a foundation for this at a very young age. As they grow, we also implement things like toy play, desensitization training, socialization, basic age-appropriate puppy training and lots of snuggles and cuddles from our four children and ourselves to help stimulate the active and brilliant minds that these magnificent creatures possess.
Our puppies are all fed a fully balanced raw food diet and supplemented with high quality kibble as well. We proudly feed and recommend Victor Dog Food. Their Professional blend is specifically formulated for dogs that will be 70+ lbs. at adulthood.
Our puppies are also kept with their Mother long enough for her to teach them proper canine etiquette that is vital to having a well-rounded puppy and future full grown dog.
We strive to develop a strong bond between our puppies and their human companion(s) here at Roberts'K9s so that one day they can share that same bond with you as their new owner and companion.
Our goal is to develop a family dog that is cherished and loved for a lifetime, just like our adult dogs are by our family. Each of our dogs used for producing puppies is first and foremost a four legged part of our family structure and small homestead. They provide an immense amount of joy in our lives, and we love each unique dog so much.

OUR TRAINING METHODS
What does our training plan look like with each litter of puppies? We take training puppies seriously here, and feel that it is very important in producing a well-rounded dog!
With Roberts'K9s puppies, socialization begins as early as 3 days old with ENS. (Early Neorological Stimulation)
You can read more about that here: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/dog-breeding/breeder-puppy-socialization-early-neurological-stimulation/
Between birth and six weeks of age, our puppies are held, cuddled, and played with daily as well. Our four children assist with this, and our puppies are very adapted to being carried around in a little person's arms every day from a very young age. Momma Roberts also loves the job of holding baby puppies daily. They're so precious!
Between the ages of three and six weeks, the puppies move out of their whelping box, and begin roaming around their entire whelping house while learning to eat and drink independently, (this is when raw food is introduced!) and use a pine pellet litter box before they are old enough to go potty outside. They are also introduced to puppy pads when they are in their playpen in our home, which is usually daily at this age.
At around six weeks of age, we begin to introduce crates once a day, and are always careful to make crates a positive experience. A crate always means treats or meal time at our house!
You can read more about crate training here: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/how-to-crate-train-your-dog-in-9-easy-steps/
Between the ages of six to eight weeks, the puppies are slowly weaned from their Mother. They are also transitioned to kibble instead of a fully raw diet, with occasional raw meals fed to them until they join their new families. Their crate training is continued, with a few minutes spent in crates daily. Their favorite treat to eat in their crates are raw chicken paws. This is also great for ear cartilage development in GSD puppies! They also begin to learn how to use a doggy door to go potty outside. This is also when we begin working with them on recall. You can read more about that here:
https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/reliable-recall-train-dogs-to-come-when-called/
At eight weeks of age, we begin leash training our puppies. You can learn more about leash training here: https://youtu.be/IMNZjedBJQI
At ten weeks of age, our puppies begin clicker training. They begin to learn commands like sit, down, place, and stay, using this method. Their favorite reward is string cheese or raw meat treats!
You can learn more about clicker training here: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/training/clicker-training-your-dog-mark-and-reward/
We highly recommend hiring a balanced dog trainer that will work with training you alongside your new puppy, and has preferably had experience in training German Shepherd Dogs.
Training has only just started before our puppies leave us, and it is the owner's responsibility to continue building on the foundation our puppies receive.
Keep in mind that an 8 week old puppy is about 2 years of age in human years, and just as we do not expect a 2 year old human child to know everything, we must realize that puppies will not completely know or retain everything taught to them either. Each puppy also has it's own rate of development, just as humans do.
2 months = a 2 year old human.
Even at the age of one, a large breed dog like a German Shepherd is just beginning its teenage years.
Be patient, reinforce good behavior, be consistent in training, and don't expect your puppy to act like a mature dog overnight!

WINTER 2023 "G" LITTER
This litter will be ready to go home after February 5th.
To read more about the temperament and personality of each puppy, visit our Facebook @Roberts'K9s where each puppy has an individual post.
GUS
$1,500
Gus is the last puppy from his litter available. He is a stock coat black and tan male with a birth date of 12/11/24. He has had all 3 sets of puppy shots, and has passed his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Evaluation. As all of our puppies are, he is also vet examined, microchipped, and utd on deworming.
We are so proud of personally knowing generations of our dogs- not just on a pedigree, but in real life.
OUR FEMALES
TASHA AMARYLLIS ROBERTS
Black and Tan Stock Coat Female
Tasha is a Roberts'K9s baby, and her Dam was one of the first German Shepherds that Jonathan and his brother ever purchased around 12 years ago. Tasha adores her humans, and thinks she runs our entire place. She is one of our older girls and will be retiring soon, but she is still very active and healthy.
ZEBA ROSE ROBERTS
Black and Red Long Coat Female
Zeba is the first puppy that Bethany ever picked out. She was the only long coat in the litter, and it was meant to be. She has brightened our lives and produced beautiful babies. Her Dam is an emotional support dog for a veteran, and her temperament is fantastic. She is sweet and protective, but also independent. If she doesn't like something, you'll know by her bark. She also LOVES to eat! We affectionately call her Hippo. Zeba is one of our older girls and will be retiring soon as well. She is still very active and healthy.
TRINITY ASTER ROBERTS
Black and Tan Long Coat Female
Trinity is a Roberts'K9s puppy from Tasha. We originally were not planning on keeping a puppy at the time, but Trinity picked us and stayed anyway. She is so very gentle and loving with our children, and has a special place in her heart for all little kids. She has produced some fantastic puppies. Trinity is very low-key, and happy with just being able to spend time with her humans. She's a little bossy around other dogs (like her Mom), but warms up to them quickly. She is our only "middle-aged" Momma and will hopefully produce puppies for a few more years.
JOANNA'S EENIE MEENIE MINEY MOE
Black and Tan Stock Coat Female
"Minnie" is our four year old daughter's first dog. She picked her out of one of Trinity's litters and loved her so much from just a tiny baby that we couldn't allow anyone else to adopt her. She named her by herself, and Minnie knows that she is a special little girl's dog. She obeys her completely and they play together all the time. Minnie is one of our future breeding females, but she found her own way to Motherhood earlier than we would have planned for her in early 2023. (Thankfully with the correct male that we would have paired her with later!) She will not be bred again until after age two, but she produced some perfect little "accidents" for us this past spring, and she is a very attentive and loving Mother that has exceeded all of our hopes for her. We are so proud of Minnie!
OUR MALES
TOP GUN'S AXLE VON ROBERTS
Long Coat Black and Red Male
Axle is a past Roberts'K9s puppy that we decided to keep to continue our lines. He is also our 6 year old son's dog. He is confident and smart, while also being obedient and gentle. He is so gentle that our two year old can handle him! He is very affectionate, and will do just about anything for cuddles, and doesn't believe in personal space. He also loves giving kisses!
CHEROKEE'S TOP GUN
Black and Red Long Coat Male
Affectionately called "Gunner", Cherokees Top Gun is an amazing stud that is bold yet gentle and loving, and of course, absolutely stunning. We have exclusively had access to him as a stud, and we are ever grateful to his owner for that opportunity. He has produced amazing puppies for us over the years! Gunner will be ten years old this year and is still going strong!
